A Little Well Done To Moo & I

It seems FOREVER since I’ve been in Blogland, I do hope you are all fighting fit and at one with the world. While I’ve been missing I have been ever sooo busy, The Cottage On The Green renovations have been moving apace ~we have seen the light at the end of the tunnel and have carpets upstairs !! it’s only taken 10 yrs …yes you have read that right 10 YEARS to get this far LOL. Moo is changing bedrooms and I thought what better time to teach him a little DIY

Moo does DIY
Moo doing a fantastic job rebuilding his bed, his next job is to hoover up all the bits of carpet shredding’s LOL

Obviously I checked the bolts had been tightened but he did the rest himself 🙂

What else have I been up to ? studying of course

My good-self being awarded a ‘People Moving & Risk Assessment Key Trainer certificate’ by Councillor Bradwell ~Executive Councillor for Adult Care, Health and Children’s Services

Having passed my Train the Trainer in Moving & Handling ( Train the Trainer First Aid next) I have been offered the position of ‘Training Officer’ not just for the home I work at but for THE WHOLE COMPANY!!! OMGoodness I’m more than a little proud at my career growth ….and a touch surprised if the truth be told 🙂

If that wasn’t enough I’m surrounded by no less than 4 mum’s to be so have been sneaking in a little sock knitting for tiny people paws

Each pregnant lady will receive a couple of pairs of super cute socks ~ either gender specific or neutral depending on their preferences

I do hope not to leave it too long before I post again, thank you for calling by the cottage to keep me company x

I Feel An Oscar Acceptance Speech Coming On

Many thanks to Keri for nominating my humble blog for this award, if you are looking for neat ideas to upcycle or give your home a makeover go check her  blog out …after reading my post first of course !!

As I sit here in my tiara, long white gloves, and full evening gown, I raise my rather healthy proportioned glass to you all 🙂 This is the second nomination in this category and I’ll do a recap of my last acceptance speech, mainly because the juniper cordial I’m gulping down (in a most unladylike way) is beginning to kick in !!!

Sooo I have to mention how / why I started blogging

I have 2 blogs here on WP actually that’s a little fib I have this one &  K9 has his own .. best not steal his thunder !!  I called it Craft, because I wanted to chart my attempts into new crafts and Odyssey  to chart my wanderings through life. There are a few of reasons why I came to be a member of this community, here are some to keep you going

A) Because of the nature of my work – Let me explain, in Dementia Care the recipients of my care frequently don’t live in our world, I get to live in theirs, which means I get to virtually travel back in time to re- live their adventures, joys, misfortunes, and loves, I have their photos and stories to connect with them but very few written notes

B) I love anecdotes, tales, stories and social history

C) Lest I or my loved ones forget who I am, what made me tick / laugh/ the essence of me

I’m also obliged to pass on my profound wisdom and advice to new bloggers  *laugh cough *

Write for yourself, this is your narrative, it’s who you are, add tags, add photographs, and last but not least HAVE FUN

Now I have to nominate the next Blogger Recognition Award recipients, these are in no particular order and every blog I follow deserves a nomination !!

Florence and Freddie I have tried stamping …unfortunately my attempts were nothing like you will see on this blog – mine resembled a 2 yr olds during paint class at nursery

Sarah and Choppy Think a dog with a sense of flair and a touch of humour thrown in and you won’t be far off the mark

Jane  at Pillow Parlance A wonderfully talented lady …moi jealous – ermm only a little

I’ve only nominated 3 because

Lets face facts if I look this good the whole village needs to see...I'm off for a stroll around the green
Lets face facts if I look this good the whole village needs to see…I’m off for a stroll around the green

1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
2. Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post. Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
3. Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.4. Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night . That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

The ‘Blogs We Love Award’

This idea came about by a wonderful comment from Repurposing Junkie please let me introduce ‘The Blogs We Love Award’

Thank and link back to the blogger who nominated you

Post the award badge

Nominate between one and three blogs that you really enjoy, tell us why they are special to you …Simple 🙂

Let the respective bloggers know they have been nominated

The blogging community is awesome, it’s supportive, and connects us to such a wide diversity of ideas, so come on ladies and gents lets celebrate and share the blogs we love

Every blog I read is close to my heart and deserves recognition so it’s been a bit of a mare singling just 3 out, I’m biting the bullet and nominating

Repurposing Junkie .. for many reasons, Keri is the inspiration behind this award, one simple comment turned my distressing day around, her work is totally inspiring she transforms the mundane into breathtaking works of art, she takes unloved objects and gives them a new lease of life, this is not just upcycling but giving junk a soul

The Snail of happiness, the tag to this post is small steps to a kinder world, now if that doesn’t set your world of imagination on fire I don’t know what does,  Ms Snail is single-handedly educating me a whole host of subjects, she knits, crochets, harvests her own grown crops, and is working hard on sustainability – the woman is a marvel, yet she never preaches she simply guides me forwards

Caren’s craft and canvas I love Caren’s creativity, how on earth she creates such masterpieces is beyond me !!  although she has a completely different skill set to my own    she lights my imagination and helps keep me sane in the strange little world I live in, her sense of humour has me in stitches, and she has a heart of gold. Caren thank you for being you !!!!

To everyone who takes the time to blog, or post comments,  THANK YOU each and everyone of you has a blog that we love ❤
