Quite a while ago I ordered some yarn from an on-line company I use quite regularly, they sent me part of the order saying to expect the rest shortly, a couple of weeks went by, nothing, so I dropped them an e-mail, they said it would be here in the next day or so, again nothing, I waited a couple of more weeks then dropped them another e-mail, oh yes it will be with you soon they said. All in all 2 months or more went past, by now feeling quite fractious I e-mailed a terse correspondence, the yarn arrived a couple of days later along with 7 balls of yarn as way of an apology – the ‘extra’ yarn was 1 ball of purple and 6 balls of in your face bright red … not sure if this ‘gift’ really was an apology or a take that Mrs P !!
Any-ways I got to thinking what on earth I could craft with my ‘bonus’ yarn so I made a start on this
I’ve started so I’ll finish, oh my giddy aunt it’s going to be a tad how shall I put it …vivid
So by you are possibly wondering where on earth I’m going with this ?? my idea is because I got this yarn for free why not craft a give-away, and here it is in all it’s *glory*
This isn’t enough ?? well I also took the advantage to craft a primitive folk art rabbit,
If this is for you leave me a comment and I’ll but the names in said bag and Beloved will draw out the winner on Saturday 17th October
Good luck …I think that’s the phrase I’m looking for 🙂
So by now Tajana’s readers will have seen what I crafted for our gift exchange, I’ll just do a short post to share what I made for anyone not familiar with her page, if you see HERE you will see my inspiration for her blanket, the thing that made me smile is some of my followers assumed I knitted her gift when in reality I crocheted her present …which in hindsight was a little brave of me as Tajana is a renowned crochet artist
The pattern is by Lucy at Attic 24 but I tried to give it a gentle twist by reversing the pattern to give two complementary halves, the shades of brown are meant to represent the various shades of the freshly ploughed fields during all weathers and lights, and the blue the vast expanse of sky due to the flat landscape, the two shades of green in the border are the newly spouting leaves and crops growing in the fields, whereas the grey are the rain clouds …I sure hope you can see where I’m going with this and I’m not in need if respite care at ‘The Workplace’
Here is a close up of the offending 18 stitches in a completely different yarn that caused me to take to coffee and cake at Beloveds instance !!
So there you have it my daily walk with K9 represented in a blanket
When I was thinking of a project for my gift exchange with Tajana I took inspiration from my daily walk with K9 within a 2 minuet 20 seconds walk from the cottage …Yes I actually timed it …. I’m faced with this
All these photos were taken on a dull day, but that is what I love about living here, the view changes each day depending on the weather, time of day, and the seasons. Now as the gift has been popped into the post I’ll leave it to Tajna reveal what I actually created
