Just what is here you may be asking ??…only the fantastic prize that was featured on One Creative Family I’m sooo excited to be sharing this with you, firstly because it’s hand crafted by a very talented artisan, and secondly because I WON 🙂
So with no further ado here is my prize
What a wonderful give-away, many a happy Autumn/Winter evening will be spent with my mug snuggled in it’s cosy, and the bowl cosy will be put in to use on a regular basis as soup season is on the horizon, as for the notelet I’m planning on framing it to display in my crafting den to remind me of this special day, and my fortune at being part of the outstanding blogging community here on WordPress, so thank you once again to One Creative Family for hosting the give-away, to have a piece of your work has warmed my heart x
Would you jolly well know it the burning ball of fire sun was shining long enough for me to be able to photograph a couple more items for ‘My Ladies Layette’ to join the Bunny Eared Hat that I’ve already crocheted firstly this cutie
And now for something a little more traditional as per ‘ My Ladies’ request
I have really enjoyed doing little people items, so much so I’m not sure whether to diversify and add a few hand crafted vintage inspired baby items into my on-line store is there a market for that kind of stuff..would you buy or dress your new arrival in that type of apparel ??
Just to set the record straight I give my deepest apologies for being MIA (‘The Workplace’ related stuff) now I’m not sure how to say this so I’m just going to throw it out there …I have an alter ego – she looks like me, sounds like me, heck some folks think it is me – but there is a subtle difference, oh and if you decide to stop reading about now I understand
I call her Dolly Daydream…let me give you an example of her impact on my daily life, it’s was her idea to have everyone round to ours for a large pre-Christmas lunch – even though I’m on a long stretch at ‘The Workplace’ on early shift that day so will have been up since 5 am, she said let’s have a super excited Gelfling Grandson to stay the week before Christmas, then to top it all WHILE I WAS STOOD RIGHT THERE she said instead of buying a gift for a residents Secret Santa she would make something !!!!!!!!!!
WHAT !!.. shut up Dolly Daydream, I can hear you, that’s right you just smile and flounce off – I’m never sure whether to hug her for her kind thoughts or go straight for her wand and snap it in two
On the plus side who would have thought stripes could be such fun and for Dolly’s sake so soothing, Dolly also said I need to catch up with everyone’s blog posts 🙂
A little while ago I posted about the plight of my friend Theo Grey now I’m not one to blow my own trumpet BUT I have put Emma in Jane Austen’s novel to shame, I plotted, held impromptu dinner parties and drinks in the garden on balmy summer nights and lo and behold
They are becoming quite an item, being seen together most evenings, I do believe its love … how do I know ?? well its obvious really when a lady rabbit is besotted her nose turns into a red heart
I know this may be a little early to mention the Christmas word, but this year all my gifts are to be hand crafted, so I need to start now !!
I have down loaded the first pattern (all 41 pages of it !!) and am raring to go, OK let me re-phrase that, I’m a little apprehensive as the first project has 58 motifs and I actually need to learn how to do an African flower pentagon, heptagon, triangle, octagon and square yet, so all I can say is ….it may be a long old haul, don’t wait up, and for all my blogging companions I’ll sign off with this message …
Gelfling Grandchild has always seen me crafting away, the little lamb actually thinks I knit rabbits for a living, although he knows I have a day job he is under the misinterpretation the ‘Lovelies’ I assist somehow help in my ‘Crafting Empire’
Anyhoo he has never asked me to create him anything until he charged into the cottage a couple of days ago sat next to me and quietly asked can I make him a blanket
Gelfling Grandchild….. ‘ Grandma please may I have a blanket….it needs to be blue, you know blue like the sky, blue like the water in the beck, blue like the rain in puddles’
Me ….’We’ll see’ which is actually code for yes, but all in good time
Gelfling Grandchild held his arms aloft depicting how large he would like his blanket to be if indeed I could make him one, he’s actually given this a lot of thought my I hope I can live up to his expectations
I have done it in ripple stitch as this may be construed as waves crashing on the shore, this last sentence could lead you to the conclusion that I have a vivid imagination, or I live in my own little world…either explanation is fine with me
I’ve been itching to make myself something, so after many an hour a short trawl on the tinternet I came across this THIS …. a Japanese Apron inspired top
Feeling suitably creative I set about my task, I ended up modifying the pattern slightly as I didn’t want it as long, or quite as wide, last year lucky me was gifted some gorgeous fabric from a fellow crafter in the village, thanks Shelley for your generosity
I’m quite happy with how my summer top turned out, I’m just waiting on the warmer weather now 🙂
However there are things I’ll change on the next one I make, I’ll keep the length the same, although I’ll alter how I did the shoulder seams, I made a slight boo boo and put the binding on then sewed the shoulder seam up, D’oh, it would look more professional the other way round !!!! as my next top will be in a heavier fabric as I want to wear it over a blouse / roll neck top more suitable for Autumn / Winter I’ll make it wider so it crosses over on the back not making whatever I wear underneath visible, Yep I think I’m on a roll now 🙂
